About Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretation Centre
The Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretation Centre, located at Glen Reenen within the Golden Gate Highlands National Park in South Africa, is a cultural and scientific facility dedicated to the region's paleontological heritage. Opened in June 2025, the centre's architecture blends into the park's sandstone cliffs and features a name derived from a Sesotho mythological beast inspired by ancient fossil discoveries.
The facility showcases 190-million-year-old fossilised Massospondylus eggs and embryos found within the park, alongside reconstructions of prehistoric animals like the massive Ledumahadi mafube. Visitors can explore interactive digital media exhibits, learn about the intersection of local folklore and Western science, and access an outdoor boardwalk, a children's play area, and an on-site café. Entry Fees pricing is available on their website.
