About Dinokeng Game Reserve
The Dinokeng Game Reserve is a large conservation area situated in the Gauteng, located a short distance north of Pretoria along the N1 highway. Spanning approximately 21,000 hectares of malaria-free bushveld, it functions as a unique residential partnership between private landowners, local communities, and the government. As Gauteng's only free-roaming Big Five game reserve, it provides sanctuary to lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and African buffalo, alongside a diverse array of birdlife and other indigenous wildlife.
Visitors can explore the reserve through an extensive network of self-drive viewing tracks, or opt for guided game drives and bush walks operated by local concessions. The reserve also features secure, fenced picnic sites and specialized bird hides for day visitors, while overnight guests can choose from an array of accommodations ranging from luxury private safari lodges and self-catering chalets to family-oriented caravan resorts and campsites.
