About Roodepoort Parkrun
The Roodepoort parkrun is a free, weekly, community-driven 5-kilometre event held every Saturday morning at 08:00 am. Located at Len Rutter Park in Florida Park, Roodepoort, it stands as the second-oldest parkrun in South Africa. The event is fully organized by volunteers and welcomes runners, joggers, walkers, and dogs of all fitness standards. The designated route consists of a two-lap course traversing a mix of grass fields, concrete pathways, and sand or gravel tracks. Participants are required to register online once beforehand and bring a scannable copy of their barcode to receive an official timed result.
