The Blue Train is a historic and luxurious five-star rail service operating in South Africa, primarily running a 1,600-kilometre route between Pretoria and Cape Town. The journey takes approximately 54 hours over three days and two nights, featuring a scheduled off-train excursion to the Kimberley Open Mine Museum and the Big Hole. Operating as an all-inclusive experience, the train provides passengers with 24-hour butler service, private Deluxe or Luxury suites with en-suite bathrooms, and panoramic windows. The onboard amenities include a lounge car, a club car, and a dining car where multi-course gourmet meals, local wines, and high teas are served under a formal evening dress code.
