About Rand Model Aeronautical Club
The Rand Model Aeronautical Club (RMAC) is one of the oldest and most prominent radio-controlled (RC) model aircraft flying clubs in South Africa. Originally established in the 1930s, the club has been based at its current location in Johannesburg South since the 1970s. It is a vibrant, family-oriented community dedicated to advancing and encouraging all branches of model aviation. Membership Requirement: To fly at the field, pilots must hold valid SAMAA membership for public liability insurance coverage. Airspace Rules: Operating heights are strictly capped at 400 feet Above Ground Level (AGL), and full-scale aircraft always maintain the right of way.
