About Beachwood Golf Course
Beachwood Golf Course is a historic links-style championship course situated at 9 Beachwood Place in Durban North positioned along the Indian Ocean coastline between the Durban Country Club and Umhlanga. Originally established in 1931 and later redesigned by the Gary Player Design Group, the land is currently transitioning through long-term property development plans under the management of Beachwood Country Club, meaning only 10 holes are presently open for play.
The layout features tight fairways bordered by indigenous coastal bush and mangrove trees that serve as natural windbreaks against ocean breezes, while its northern boundary runs parallel to Virginia Airport, offering views of light aircraft taking off and landing. Beyond the golf facilities, the property serves as a local community hub, operating the Rendezvous @ Beachwood entertainment venue which hosts regular public events such as weekly trivia nights and live music socials.
