About Cannibals Cave Parkrun
The Cannibals Cave parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5-kilometre event held every Saturday at 8:00 AM near the Northern Drakensberg in KwaZulu-Natal. Established in June 2014 by Lizzy and Muzi Mabaso alongside Iain Morshead, the out-and-back course takes place on an undulating tarred road that starts near Lizzy’s Store by the Thukela River Bridge, runs toward the Rugged Glen Nature Reserve, and offers views of the Amphitheatre mountain wall. The community-led event relies on volunteers, requires participants to bring a registered barcode for timing, and lacks on-site public toilet facilities.
