About Walkers Plains Camp
Walkers Plains Camp is an intimate, family-owned luxury safari lodge situated within the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, a conservation area that shares an unfenced border with South Africa's Kruger National Park. Developed by the Walker family and completed in late 2018, the property is owner-managed by twin brothers Steve and James Walker, who utilize their backgrounds as professional guides to lead the camp's operations.
The lodge accommodates up to 16 guests across eight air-conditioned suites, which include six luxury double or twin units and two two-bedroom family suites designed for children aged eight years and older. Positioned on an open savannah plain overlooking a permanent waterhole with views of the Drakensberg Mountains, each private suite features floor-to-ceiling windows, an indoor and outdoor shower, and a private wooden deck with a personal rim-flow plunge pool. Guests at the fully inclusive lodge participate in twice-daily open-vehicle game drives to view regional wildlife such as lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, and wild dogs and gather at the main homestead's lounge, central swimming pool, and open-air boma for communal dining.
