Vergenoeg Nature Reserve & Hiking Trail
About Vergenoeg Nature Reserve & Hiking Trail
Vergenoeg Nature Reserve & Hiking Trail is a privately owned eco-adventure destination located on the rugged slopes of the Magaliesberg mountains along the R560 in Skeerpoort, near Hartbeespoort. Situated within the UNESCO Magaliesberg Biosphere Reserve, the property is highly regarded for its three distinct, color-coded hiking paths: the family-friendly 4 km Orange Trail, the moderate 5 km Red Trail that explores a shaded gorge, and the highly technical 10 km Black Trail, which requires navigating a steep 680-meter elevation gain and rope-assisted rock faces. In addition to hiking, the reserve features a dedicated five-stage enduro mountain biking network integrated into the regional Van Gaalen trail system, an on-site restaurant called Gli Amici - Premium Coffee House, secure parking, and clean restroom facilities
