About Cafe Alexandre (frenchtoastharties)
Café Alexandre, also known as the French Toast Coffee Café, is a themed bistro located at Plot 97, Melodi, R511 Street in Hartbeespoort. The venue was originally constructed as an official movie set for the South African film French Toast and now operates as an open-air, Parisian-inspired exhibition area often called "Little Paris." The grounds feature romantic landmarks, including a 12.5-metre replica of the Eiffel Tower, an "I Love You" wall, a wishing pond with roaming ducks, and a love lock bridge where visitors can hang padlocks.
Access to these photo spots is integrated with the café's operations, requiring guests to either purchase food, drinks, or a padlock from the establishment, or otherwise pay a standard entrance fee to walk the grounds. The menu centers around variations of sweet and savory French toast, croissants, hot dogs, cheese platters, and specialized milkshakes, including an option containing alcohol.
