About Sandgat

Sandgat is a private caravan and camping resort situated on the Liberwalt farm along the banks of the Orange River, located approximately 7 kilometres downstream from the Vanderkloof Dam wall in the Northern Cape. The property features roughly 50 grassed stands equipped with nearby power points and braai facilities, alongside communal ablution blocks with hot water, swimming pools, a playground, and vintage caravans available for rent.

Visitors utilize the river for activities such as fly fishing for yellowfish, canoeing, and kayaking, while the farm itself serves as the official venue for the weekly Lieberwalt Farm parkrun. Because the resort pumps unpurified water directly from the Orange River, guests must bring their own drinking water. The resort is accessible via a gravel road turnoff from the route connecting Vanderkloof and Petrusville, and domestic pets are permitted on the property by prior arrangement with management.
