About Platteland Animals

Platteland Animals is a family-oriented petting zoo, exotic animal destination, and venue located in Jan Kempdorp, Northern Cape. The facility features an interactive animal environment where visitors can engage with farm and exotic animals, and it operates an affiliated purebred rabbit breeding program called Platteland Rabbitry, which is registered with the Rabbit Breeders Association of South Africa.

In addition to animal interactions, the property features a coffee shop open Tuesday through Saturday, horse riding lessons and fun rides available Monday through Friday, and an on-site dog grooming parlor named Wolpootjie Hondesalon. The venue accommodates private events such as children's birthday parties, functions, and small weddings, offering dedicated braai facilities for guests and an ongoing miniature golf (putt-putt) course development to expand its recreational offerings.
