About !Xaus Lodge
!Xaus Lodge is a remote, community-owned eco-lodge perched on the 91st sand dune in a private reserve deep within South Africa's Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Pronounced "kaus" (meaning "heart" in the Nama language), the lodge overlooks a distinctive heart-shaped salt pan and freshwater waterhole. It is owned by the ‡Khomani San and Mier communities, who also make up the majority of the staff, offering an authentic Kalahari cultural and wilderness experience.
