About Platteklip Gorge
Platteklip Gorge is the oldest, most direct, and arguably the most popular hiking trail to the summit of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. Known as a "giant staircase," this 2.5 km (one-way) route offers a non-technical but steep, continuous ascent, climbing over 680 meters in elevation. It is considered the easiest hiking route, taking roughly 1.5 to 2.5 hours to reach the top, where hikers can catch the cable car down.
