The Bittereinder (Die Hard) Memorial is a bronze sculpture group located on the hill adjacent to the National Women's Monument and the Anglo-Boer War Museum on Monument Road in Bloemfontein. Significance: It commemorates the "Bittereinders" (bitter-enders), the Boer fighters who refused to surrender and continued guerrilla warfare against British forces until the very end of the Second Boer War in 1902. Artistry: The sculpture was created by artist Danie de Jager.
