About MOTH Memorial
The MOTH Memorial in Welkom is a tribute to fallen soldiers, located in Van Riebeeck Park (also known as Riebeeck Park). It is one of several monuments in the park, including the Afrikaans Language Monument and the WWII Memorial. Like all MOTH memorials, it serves to honour the "Sunset Call" of those who served in the armed forces, following the order's ideals of True Comradeship, Mutual Help, and Sound Memory.
