The 31/201 Battalion Memorial, also known as the Needle of Honour, is located within the grounds of the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria. It serves as a solemn tribute to the soldiers of the 31/201 Battalion, primarily San (Bushmen) and Flecha fighters, who served during the South African Border War. Significance: It honors the "Bushman Battalion" (originally Alpha Group), which was formed in 1974 and later renamed 201 Battalion under the South West Africa Territory Force (SWATF).
