About Hertzog Statue
The statue of General James Barry Munnik (J.B.M.) Hertzog is located in the gardens of the Union Buildings in Pretoria. Relocation: In November 2013, the statue was moved from its original prominent position to a more secluded spot about 100 metres away within the same grounds. Legacy: Hertzog was a key figure in Afrikaner nationalism, helping to establish Afrikaans as an official language and founding the National Party.
