About Union Buildings
Designed by Sir Herbert Baker and completed in 1913, the buildings are a masterpiece of Neoclassicism, blending Italian Renaissance, Cape Dutch, and Edwardian styles. In 2024, the site was officially designated as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site titled "Human Rights, Liberation and Reconciliation: Nelson Mandela Legacy Sites".
