About Anglo-Boer War Memorial
The Anglo-Boer War Memorial, originally named the Rand Regiments Memorial to honor Witwatersrand men who fought and died as British soldiers in the Second Boer War (1899–1902), stands beside the South African National Museum of Military History. On 10 October 1999, it was rededicated to commemorate all who lost their lives in the war and renamed the Anglo-Boer War Memorial.
