About Fish Hoek Garden Of Remembrance Landmark

The Fish Hoek Garden of Remembrance is a historical civic park and veterans memorial site situated in Fish Hoek, Cape Town. Established in 1964 by the Battledress Shellhole of the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (MOTH), the park was created to honour local servicemen who lost their lives during World War II. The focal point of the garden is a stone cairn designed by prominent chief architect Eric Rose-Innes, which features plaques bearing the names of the fallen. Handled with care by local community restoration projects, it functions as a solemn, quiet space for public reflection and plays host to annual Remembrance Day military parades around November 11th each year.
