About Gugulethu 7 Memorial
The Gugulethu Seven Memorial is a significant Provincial Heritage Site in Cape Town that honours seven young anti-apartheid activists killed by security forces on 3 March 1986. The activists, aged between 16 and 23, were members of uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) who were ambushed by an apartheid police unit following a planned infiltration. Location: The memorial is situated at the corner of Steve Biko Drive (NY1) and Mananase Ndlebe Road (NY121) in Gugulethu, directly across from the Gugulethu Police Station.
