The cemetery grounds include several distinct sections of historical importance: Anglo-Boer War Graves: The cemetery contains the graves of British soldiers who died during the Anglo-Boer War, as the town was a strategic location during that period. Jewish Cemetery: Established in 1878 following a diphtheria epidemic, this small, walled section contains 52 graves with the last burial occurring in 1952. Old Cemetery: Often referred to separately from the more modern municipal sections, it holds many pioneer and early settler graves, including surnames such as Dempsey and Van Deventer.
