About Uniefees Dam
Uniefees Dam is a municipal reservoir built in 1960 on the edge of Heilbron in the Free State, South Africa. Governed by the Ngwathe Local Municipality, this former recreational and fishing hub has faced severe infrastructure challenges, including vandalism, illegal occupations, and sewage pollution. Local oversight groups continue to advocate for Public-Private Partnerships to rehabilitate the site, restore its water quality, and revive its tourism potential.
