The Durban North Breakwater Light Beacon is a maritime navigational aid located at the entrance to the Port of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Often confused with the more famous Umhlanga Rocks Lighthouse (situated 15km north), this specific beacon marks the tip of the North Pier (breakwater) to guide vessels safely into Africa's busiest port. The beacon typically emits a green light (flashing every 3 seconds), which follows the international maritime convention for marking the starboard (right) side of a channel when entering a port.
