Majuba Mountain is a 2,102-metre (6,896-foot) peak in South Africa's Drakensberg range, situated near the borders of KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga. It is historically significant as the site of the Battle of Majuba Hill on 27 February 1881, where Boer forces decisively defeated the British military to end the First Anglo-Boer War. Today, the mountain is a protected heritage site featuring a museum, camping facilities, and a steep foot trail that allows visitors to hike to the summit battlegrounds and monuments. The Battlefield Hike: A moderately strenuous 1.5 to 2-hour foot trail leads hikers up the steep slopes directly to the summit. Summit Landmarks: The top features sweeping panoramic views, historical military trenches, stone monuments, and graves marking where various British regiments fell. Facilities: A dirt vehicle track leads to a designated lower picnic area. The Majuba Commemorative Farm at the base offers a museum, a youth lodge, and camping amenities.
