The hide is located on private property in the environmentally sensitive area of the Oribi Gorge, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Visitors meet a guide (often the knowledgeable Andy Ruffle) at a designated point and are escorted to the site, as it is not open to the general public and can be difficult to find on your own. The site is easily accessible by car from the tar road; there are no 4x4 trails, long hikes, or mountains to climb involved in reaching it. Advance booking is essential to ensure a spot and due to the site's environmental sensitivity; reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Tours typically last around two hours.
