About Crocodile Bridge
The Crocodile Bridge Gate and Rest Camp serves as the southeastern entrance to Kruger National Park, positioned approximately 12 kilometres north of the border town of Komatipoort along the banks of the Crocodile River. Entry to the park requires crossing a single-lane, low-water bridge that is subject to temporary closures during seasonal summer floods when river levels rise.
The adjacent Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp, managed by SANParks, provides overnight accommodation consisting of 20 electrified bungalows, 8 safari tents, and 18 campsites, alongside practical visitor amenities including a petrol station, a basic grocery shop, and communal ablution facilities. Due to the surrounding sweet-grass plains, the area is ecologically notable for supporting a high concentration of wildlife, specifically prides of lions, white rhinoceroses, leopards, and large herds of buffalo, making it a high-volume entry point for day visitors and overnight tourists alike.
