Elephant Crossing Hide
About Elephant Crossing Hide
The Elephant Crossing Hide is a dedicated wildlife viewing structure situated on the northern boundary of Marloth Park along the Crocodile River, directly overlooking the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Because elephants are prohibited from entering the residential areas of Marloth Park by a boundary fence, this elevated vantage point provides a safe location for visitors to observe them as they forage, drink, and swim on the Kruger side of the riverbed.
The area is highly frequented by a variety of other lowveld wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, and diverse bird species. The hide is easily accessible by foot or vehicle, serving as a key waypoint along local walking tracks like the Ngweya Trail, and features a protective barrier to ensure spectator safety while maintaining unobstructed views of the river ecosystem.
