About Augrabies Falls National Park

Augrabies Falls National Park, known by the indigenous Khoikhoi as "Aukoerebis" (the Place of Great Noise), is a massive conservation area in the Northern Cape defined by the thundering 56-metre main waterfall of the Orange River. Spanning over 51,000 hectares of arid, ancient granite landscape, the park features a dramatic 18-kilometre gorge and unique flora like the iconic quiver tree. Main Waterfall & Boardwalks: A network of safe viewpoints and accessible boardwalks (approx. 2 km) offers panoramic vistas of the falls and the 240-metre-deep gorge. Best Time to Visit: Autumn (March–May) and Spring (August–October) offer milder temperatures, as summers can exceed 46°C and winters drop below freezing.
