"If you want the beauty of a Cape Town tidal pool without the crowds of Kalk Bay, this is your spot. I visited at sunrise, and the way the light hits the False Bay mountains is incredible. The pool is massive (over 1,600sqm!) and remarkably calm, even when the ocean outside the wall looks wild. What makes Glencairn special is the sandy beach tucked inside the pool walls—perfect for lounging without getting sand-blasted by the wind. The water felt a few degrees warmer than the Atlantic side, though still a 'refreshing' 16°C. It’s very shallow on one end, making it super safe for kids or non-swimmers."
