This site is a popular "ridge-soaring" spot providing panoramic views of Walker Bay and the town. Location: Rotary Way Scenic Route, Hermanus. To find it, turn left off the R43 onto Rotary Way (marked by white pillars) and follow the road until it becomes gravel; the launch is about 1km further on. Launch Details: A clearly defined concrete slab on the right side of the scenic road. Landing: The primary landing zone is at the Attie Bishop Sport Field (near the tennis courts) opposite Hermanus High School. Conditions: Best with South (S) to South-East (SE) winds. It is considered a world-class site for both solo and tandem flights.
