About SANParks Rondevlei Bird Hide
The SANParks Rondevlei Bird Hide is a tranquil observation point located in the Wilderness Section of the Garden Route National Park, South Africa. Situated on the northern side of Rondevlei dam, it is part of the Wilderness Lakes system, an internationally recognised Ramsar site celebrated for its immense biodiversity and significance as a wetland for migratory and resident birds. Accessibility: Access is free of charge and relatively easy. It involves a short 100m walk down a dirt footpath followed by a 60m wooden boardwalk through the reeds. Facility Details: The hide is a wood cabin equipped with two viewing windows and benches. It has been recently upgraded with a screen to allow for observation without disturbing the birds.
