About Imiso Ceramics
Imiso Ceramics is a contemporary African ceramics studio and art gallery founded in 2005 by artists Andile Dyalvane and Zizipho Poswa. Located at The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock, Cape Town, the studio creates high-end collectible ceramic art and interior pieces that blend modern design with traditional Xhosa heritage, culture, and storytelling.
Dyalvane leads the structural design of larger vessels, incorporating signature elements like traditional body scarification techniques, while Poswa focuses on textile-inspired surfaces and hand-pinched, organic sculptures that celebrate African womanhood. The studio operates from Monday through Saturday, displaying individual signature series alongside collaborative portfolios that have earned international recognition in global galleries and museums.
