About Boulders Visitor Centre Table Mountain National Park

Tucked away at the base of Bellevue Road, the Boulders Visitor Centre is the essential starting point for any eco-tourism trip to Simon's Town. Operating as part of the Marine Protected Area of Table Mountain National Park, the center manages the delicate balance between high-volume international tourism and the conservation of the endangered land-based African Penguin colony. Upon purchasing a conservation ticket, visitors walk out onto elevated wooden pathways (such as Willis' Walk) that wind through native coastal bush straight down to Foxy Beach. These custom boardwalks allow tourists to observe the birds' natural burrowing, nesting, and waddling habits from close proximity without disturbing their sensitive habitat. Inside the center, helpful park rangers provide historical context, and an on-site curio shop offers locally crafted souvenirs.
