Mediclinic Winelands Orthopaedic Hospital is a highly specialised facility operating in partnership with the Institute of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology in Stellenbosch. The hospital does not have an emergency unit and is dedicated entirely to the surgical and medical management, as well as rehabilitation, of non-emergency musculoskeletal conditions. It provides acute care through specialist departments in orthopaedic surgery, anaesthesiology, and rheumatology medical management, including dedicated rheumatological infusions and a pain clinic. The facility includes an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Care Unit for complex post-surgical monitoring, alongside a co-located day clinic for minor, same-day planned procedures. On-site diagnostic and supplementary medical services are supported through pathology and Winelands Radiology, which provides advanced imaging services including MRI, CT scans, X-rays, ultrasound, and bone densitometry. The hospital does not offer maternity care or general emergency trauma services.
