About Fish Hoek Athletic Club
The Fish Hoek Athletic Club (FHAC) is a long-standing, family-oriented running community hub based at the Fish Hoek Sports Fields on Nelson Road in Cape Town. Serving the deep south running community since 1977, this welcoming club caters to all athletic distances and disciplines, prioritizing active participation and community camaraderie. It famously serves as the race organizer for iconic local endurance events like the Timbercity Red Hill Marathon, the intense PUFfeR trail race, and the 4 Hills for Lindsay challenge. For visiting athletes, the clubhouse comes alive on Wednesday evenings at 18:00 for its popular weekly time trials, which offer a safe 2km loop for children and a choice of 3km, 5km, or 8km routes for adults, typically followed by drinks and conversation at the bar.
