About World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary & Monkey Park
The World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary & Monkey Park is the largest bird park in Africa, located in Hout Bay, Cape Town. This four-hectare sanctuary is home to over 3,000 birds and small animals from 400 different species, many of which are rehabilitated or former pets. Visitors can explore over 100 walk-through aviaries that provide close-up encounters with eagles, owls, flamingos, and penguins. Monkey Jungle: A famous walk-through enclosure where 38 inquisitive squirrel monkeys often interact directly with visitors, sometimes climbing on shoulders. Other Wildlife: Beyond birds, the park houses meerkats, porcupines, baboons, tortoises, and a variety of reptiles. Facilities: On-site amenities include the Hornbill Café for snacks, a playground for children, and the Flamingo Terrace for personal picnics.
