About Simonsig Family Vineyards
Simonsig Family Vineyards is a premier, family-owned wine estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa, world-renowned as the pioneer of Méthode Cap Classique (MCC). Founded by Frans Malan in 1968, the estate released South Africa’s first bottle-fermented sparkling wine, Kaapse Vonkel, in 1971. Now managed by the second and third generations of the Malan family, the vineyard remains a cornerstone of the Stellenbosch Wine Route, which Frans Malan also co-founded.
